Every Object begins with a Person
Before an idea, a sketch, or a piece of leather exists, there is a story. TAURO MÍO is born from the desire to honor the women who have left a profound mark on my life. We do not choose
names because they sound good. Each name belongs to a real person whose presence transformed my way of understanding strength, elegance, generosity, or love.
The beginning
TAURO MÍO did not start with a bag.
It started with the need to preserve what time should not erase.
I discovered that objects can become silent witnesses to our lives. They accompany us on journeys, in conversations, projects, and farewells. Over time, they cease to be mere objects and become part of our history.
That is why every design is named after a woman who is important to me. It is a way to give thanks, to remember, and to allow those stories to endure.
People are the most important source of TAURO MÍO.
Each design is named after a woman who has been important in my life. But the inspiration doesn't end with the name.
It also appears in the way each one lives: her personality, her strength, her sensitivity, her way of moving through the world.
I don't try to turn a person into a bag. The connection is more subtle.
I take what she left in me and allow that memory to accompany the creative process.
That is why every piece has a story before it has a form.
Names matter
Every name preserves a story. The object is the Tribute.
The name is the Memory.
ANTONIA
MY GRANNY
Refined and delicate, but also strong and determined. Intelligent, detail-oriented, kind, and fun. Her eyes were full of joy and life. She seemed to know everything.
I remember her as neat and impeccable. Her style was quiet, timeless, and went with everything. She didn't need to call attention to herself to make her presence felt. That is also how I remember her handbag: a piece that could always accompany her, with natural ease.
I can still hear her laughter and remember her cold hands on mine, her long fingers and her fair skin.
I remember her kitchen, always full of flavors that remain with me: her flour tortillas, her cheese—whose recipe I wish I had learned—and those simple desserts that, when I close my eyes, I can still taste.
And I remember the afternoons on the porch, looking for a bit of cool air and
greeting the neighbors as they passed by.
Antonia reminds me that delicacy and strength can inhabit the same person.
COCO
MY GRANDMOTHER
Coco was an elegant woman. Her always impeccable image, her way of receiving guests, her taste in setting the table, and the importance she placed on good manners and upbringing are all part of how I remember her.
She enjoyed shopping, her plants, her home, time with her friends, and her weekly card game.
I remember her delicious food and her Christmas dinners. Some weekends spent painting her nails or helping her put on makeup. And her necklaces hanging on the door, chiming every time someone entered her bedroom.
In her, there was a care for details, a taste for things done well, and a form of elegance that was expressed both in her presence and in the way she made others feel.
Coco reminds me that elegance also lives in everyday gestures.
ROSE
MY MOM
That woman who always seems capable of handling everything, and whose smile and joy accompany you while she does.
She has exceptional drive. She is strong, motivated, intelligent, and funny. She always wants to make you feel good: welcoming you into her home, offering you her time, sitting down to chat with you, or treating you to something delicious to eat.
She is always in motion. Doing, solving, thinking about several things at once, but finding space for others.
Beautiful and with a style entirely her own.
I remember going through her closet and organizing her shoes, thinking that one day I might be able to wear them. I liked them all.
She was special with her bags. They always had something different: timeless, yet with that unexpected detail that made them seem made-to-measure for her.
Rose reminds me of that way of living: with strength and joy, always in motion, looking after others, and never losing that which makes her so uniquely herself.

The Final Piece
When the last thread is knotted, the object ceases to be material and becomes something that someone will carry with them. That is what we do.
An object begins to make sense when it finds a place in someone's life.
TAURO MÍO started with bags, but the idea has always been broader: to create leather objects that become part of everyday life.
That is why we speak of Leather Objects • Everyday Essentials.
A bag can accompany work, a trip, a meal, an afternoon in the city, or a completely ordinary moment. Its value lies precisely there: in being able to be present without demanding center stage.
A material with character.
Leather is part of the inspiration because it is never completely neutral.
It has texture, depth, and character. It changes with the light, with touch, and with time.
I like for it to retain signs of its nature and for each piece to be able to evolve differently.
I don't seek for the leather to look perfect. I seek for it to feel authentic.
